Santa Never Fails

This big ole box appeared at my front door today…

Inside, some of the hardware for my currently inoperable Aprilia SR50 DiTech (*"4STROKE" on the BBK box is a typo--SR is a two-stroke injected scooter)

Malossi 70cc Big-Bore Kit w/ECU for the SR

Thank you, Richard @ High-Gain Tuning!

Now, let the SR rebuild project begin!–Lorenzo

I’m drooling a little. That looks like awesome fun.

Paul, you’re way ahead of me on our separate rebuild projects; and I am watching yours with great interest, too. For my rebuild, I am just gonna go at my own pace, and learn as I go. Hopefully soon enough I will have something to show… Can’t wait ’till the phoenix flies again. 😉

Lo, keep us posted on the rebuilding project. I admire your courage to give it a try.

1% courage and 99% stupidity, I call it. Bought the scooter 5 years ago for $2,200, loved it, put almost 14,000 miles on it until it died in May of 2008; and now throwing multi-hundred dollars into it hoping that it will run better, stronger, and faster without even taking it apart to assess the real damages done. What would you call that?! I guess sometimes Courage = Stupidity, huh?

I am excited about the project, though. Don’t know how long and how many more dollars it would take to bring it back to life. But, since it’s my first scooter, I am entitled to continue the fun where I found it first–pure fun, for as long as I can afford to. 🙂
