Tail of the Dragon Simulation Video

Friday, September 4, 2009

Surprised to find this fresh, high-quality on-board video shot on a 2009 Yamaha T-Max by LARC0 today, so I am going to play it over and over again until I’ve mastered (or at least memorized) all 318 turns over this 11-mile high-speed descent like a good Formula One driver would.  Oh, why?  Because Ed and I and a bunch of friends from Houston-USR are going to ride the Tail of the Dragon next week.  That’s why!*–Lorenzo

* Also because LARC0 ended his description of  the video with this:

Before you go on and about, just remember that we all start somewhere and The Dragon is the best place to test your Mind, Body, and Spirit as one small mess up and you can be killed.

There’s also a longer (24′:15″), more chattier “R-rated” version of a night ride on the The Dragon by LARC0.  R-rated for: frequent uses of mature language.  Check it out!–Lorenzo

Dammittttt I got scared just watching the video! It felt like I was actually riding, no need to make the trip, video puts you right there.

He-he-he! If that were true, then we only need to watch TV all our lives and never have to step out of our (parents’) houses. Some fresh Smoky Mountain air will be good, maybe even for you, Larry. Don’t be sidelined.

Sweet! Thanks for posting my viddie here, much appreciated!!! I hope it is entertaining as well as a good learning tool, and next year we hope to film the whole 11 mile Dragon run from Bridge to bridge in even better quality!
