Another One To Dream About

Saturday, March 14, 2009

300cc seems to be the most desirable engine displacement size at the moment.  Just about every scooter manufacturer has a model, or two.  Below is one of the attractive creations from Aprilia.

Let the (*unrequited) love affair begin!  Her name is Scarabeo 300s (“s” stands for special).  She appears in only two colors, White Glam and Competition Black…

Official propaganda praising her can be found here, and a few more photos of her on are here. Like her cousin, the Vespa 300 Super, she’s actually a 278cc, single cylinder, fuel-injected four-stroker; but no one is asking.  Her saddle has a low 30-inch height, her front and rear disc brakes are integrated (or combined), and her wheel sizes are 16″-front and 14″-rear.  The rest of her measurements are all here

*She goes on sale this month, in Italy among other places of the world; but not here in USA, at least not yet anyway.–Lorenzo

I will take this one instead of a Honda.
Who knows in a year or two it may be in the USA if scooter remain strong.

I knew you would, Ed. You buy a scooter for the way it looks. If it looks great, then you gotta look pretty good, too. I get the logic. And I will bet this one will get here sometimes this year, really.
