Super-unleaded for a-buck-70-a-gallon!  Spotted in Beaumont, at the Texaco Station on 11th Street jus south of I-10, on “Snow Day” Thursday the 11th…

Supply and demand?

Supply and demand?

Price this low has not been seen, at least in Texas, since around the year 2004, just in case you’ve forgotten.  Actually, if you look at the graph in the link with a little more care, super-unleaded gasoline never used to cost as high as $1.70/gallonever until the early 2000.  If my memory serves me right, I got a gallon of regular in Houston in the mid-80’s for 56-cents a gallon, or was that just a teaser?  Experts say that gas prices continue to drop in the current recession due to decrease in consumer demand.  But for how long, before we face yet another crude awakening?–Lorenzo

In West Seattle, the 76 station at California & Andover is selling regular for 1.709. Premium is 1.909. wow!

Good to hear from ya, Orin! Nice to know that even you Pacific-Northwesterners are enjoying this long-awaited “price correction”. But, hey, he/she who rides a scooter has much less to worry about the violent fluctuations of gas prices anyway because the FPM (fun per mile) has never been higher.

    Scoot Happy!!–Lorenzo
