Rest In Peace Texas Scooterist

Monday, November 3, 2008

The life of a fellow Texas scooterist, Robert “Fox” Inman, came to a tragic end this Sunday.  He was known by many of us and our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends and comrades.  To read the statement by Irish Bastard of the Royal Bastards Scooter Club Armadillo Chapter, please go here.  There is also a tribute page for Fox by the RBSC-AC, as well as another by the Houston Scooter Battalion.  Anyone who knew him and wishes to express some thoughts, feelings, or say a prayer for Fox and his family may do so by commenting here.  May you rest in heavenly peace, Fox.–Lorenzo

Fox was a very talented photographer and has been the official photog for the Houston Scooter Battalion.  Here is his rally album from Third Coast Rally 4 in San Antonio this October.

The rider who died in the accident was a part of the scooter rally and a member of the Royal Bastards Scooter Club (Armadillo Chapter). He lost control in a sharp curve that is known by locals to be notorious for wrecks. Both the scooter and driver slide into opposite lane and were run over by a pickup truck. Ambulance and life flight arrived on the scene within just a few minutes. Accident was at approximately 11:15 a.m. No other rally participants were involved.

The riders in the Royal Bastards Scooter Club’s Spook ‘n Scoot Rally were returning from the final ride of the weekend to pack-up at the campground and depart for home when the accident occured. There were approximately 30 riders participating in the event.

My brother was bit eccentric and that’s what many of us loved him for, but we do ask that everyone be respectful to the grieving family members. We do ask that you be safe and where a helmet.

    Hi, PoleCat

I am sorry for your loss and my thoughts and prayers are with your family. I first met Fox at the Sandblast Rally earlier this year. He had this infectious energy and love for the scootering life that impressed me very much. That’s how I will always remember him.

Its hard to believe that Robert is no longer here with us on earth.

I dated Robert for about 2 months. We met for drinks on a thursday evening on August 14,2008 and had our first date on saturday August 16, 2008 and pretty much after that we were hanging out together. We went dancing at a place called Copas and did some salsa dancing one wknd, then he took me to Fitzgerald to rock out on some bands another wknd. We watched a few movies together like Clerks, The Simpson movie, Jackass, and many more.
He wanted to meet my daughter and he did and he took us to the movies. I am not sure what happened to us, I know that I was getting too attached to him. The last time we communicated he told me I needed to give him some room. that was like about 1 month ago and then his mother calls me monday morning Nov. 3rd, 2008 to let me know that he had past away. I couldnt believe it.

I only got to share a little bit of time with Robert but in that small amount of time that I had with him, it was incredible. Robert was a warm hearted man, and such a beautiful soul. Iam thankful that I had a chance to meet him and share some good times with him.

I will never forget you Robert Inman!!!!!!!
