Follow these two seventy-somethings, Buddy and Bob, as they attempt this daring 3400-mile coast-to-coast journey atop their Piaggio MP3 500 scooters. (I am kind of jealous now and only wish that I can still move without much pain at their age.) Truly, they’re doing something quite remarkable.

This is the original e-mail that got me interested in the story of Buddy and Bob:
“You’re invited to tune into the Lincoln Highway scooter adventures of Buddy and Bob, two 70-something seniors on a classic American road trip. Their 3400 mile cross country adventure starts in San Francisco’s Lincoln Square today, and you can watch them pull out of the city, real-time, at www.piaggiousa.com. Check in frequently – they’ll be blogging their way all the way to Times Square – estimated date of arrival is July 14. Along the way they’re going to do their best to prove that age and the spirit of adventure aren’t mutually exclusive.
