Lawrence, tried to go to SCGT Myspace and waited forever to load. Gave up.
Mike, I will look into it. If the problem persists, please let me know. I did some more updates with the profile last night; just went to the site to check it out and it only took about 15 sec to load. Sometimes the delay may be caused by Myspace itself; but thank you for letting me know. I have learned not to slow down the page too much by making it as simple as I can.
How do y’all look for Feb 23 or 24 March 1 or 2 for our scoot over for lunch and the bridge?
A couple of us will be in your area on Saturday 2/2 – we’ll be going to the Texas Welcome Center (expect to be here by 10am) then coming back through Orange, Bridge City & The Rainbow Bridge to Port Arthur (expect to be here by lunch time) and then Beaumont. In Beaumont we’ll be watching Project Runway and the movie “The Last Hangman” with my friend Michael. Then heading back to Houston about 4pm.
Any of you interested in joining us on any leg of the trip?
Message for Kelly/Stephen – Jim rose of united scooter riders has a Helix for sale if you are interested – it’s red but a different shade than Marie’s. It’s a beautiful bike and has a hibiscus on the trunk lid. Just a notice if she is interested
Hello,
could you tell me where you are based.
Thanks
David
Hi, David
Thank you for the comment. The club is based in Golden Triangle, Southeast Texas.

My wife is getting into riding a metro from Honda. I have a motorcycle, but want a cheap scooter to ride with her on occasion. Does anyone have any suggestions? I am in Beaumont area, sach@sachlegal.com
Hey, Chris
I heard that Larry Elliot of Nederland’s Scootersmith II has a vintage Honda Elite 250 for around $1,500. Go check it out and tell Larry that the scooter club sent you. Then you and your wife can both come and ride with us this weekend!
Lorenzo
How do I join?
Hi, Justin
You are welcome to join the club by coming to the rides. BTW, we have one this Saturday, please come! See HERE for details.

Hey, Scooter Club. I was looking into buying an Aprilia Mojito 150, but I didn’t know how reliable they were. It looks like a sweet little ride, but it’s not Japanese. :p I was wondering what the maintenance ran and about how long they would last. I figured it would be good for school.
Tara,
I see that you have an eye for the vintage look; and really, the Aprilia Mojito 150 is a sweet ride. When you buy Aprilia, you’re really getting a whole lotta performance, reliability, Italian good looks and great design at a really great price. Where are you about? Please be careful if buying from Craiglist or Ebay. Don’t exchange money before seeing and test-riding the merchandise. You should be the envy of all the girls and boys in school.

Happy Aprilia owner
Does anyone in the area work on Vespa’s?
Hi, Chris
No, I don’t think so. Those who own Vespas around here work on their scooters themselves. Things such as tire change and balance local shops like Golden Triangle Cycle Center can do for you. Do you have a Vespa; and is it coming down with something?

Is there any way that you can send me a picture of that beautiful 1974 Honda XL 100?(without Dennis on it) This was my 1st bike and I have fond memories about it. I now ride my Harley softail on the roads of Chester County, Pa. and wish you guys a safe and happy future riding together. Thanks!
any suggestions for a possible new scooter owner? I would like to check them out but don’t know what to look for. have the prices increased due to their increased popularity? what local shop due you recommend? I need something to ride to work and the speed linit is 55 in some areas. thanks.
Nice site you got here… i like a lot of the tutorials and things you have posted. Check out http://www.scootforum.com and let me know what you think
Hi Lorenzo!
First, I must mention that I was offered, and accepted, the position of “web master” for the Houston Scooter Battalion. (Emily stepped down to concentrate on her masters degree.) Please, no congrats, it’s a small pain as I’m sure you know ; -)
Anyway, HSB is throwing a benefit for Aaron and I was wondering if you could post it on the SCGT site to help us draw attention. There is an official flyer, and you can get a copy from the HSB site. The flyer has all the details. It will be fun.
Charlie Walton
Thanks, Charlie and I just did.–Lorenzo

PS – we did trailer them there! lol
Howdy, Lorenzo! Great site!
Can you please add the Austin Scooter Club to your Scooter Clubs in Texas link list? We would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance!
Sure, just did, cheers! Let’s ride someday!
I’m needing information about a “Honda” moped/scooter built in the early 80″s (I think). It has 2 small wheels in the back. It is in excellent condition other than it won’t start. If anyone knows anything about that scooter:please let me know. Thanks, Ron
That would be the Honda Gyro!
Hey, just a newbie (brand newbie to be exact) close to getting his first scooter, taking the motorcycle training next weekend (sept. 18th-20th) and want to learn about the scooter I may be getting and do some rides as well now and again. Well, look forward to hearing from you and getting with the other members. I’m in Houston, Texas near Cypress.
One last thing, I’m about to consider a 2007 Scarabeo 500 i.e. used, 8,000 miles, and according to the seller, mechanic maintained. He will include a large helmet, extra windshield, a storage case (though small) and for 3900.00. Is this a good deal? Thanks for your help.
Brian
The deal sure sounds tempting, I must say Brian; and that really isn’t a lot of miles.
Houston, huh? Test ride it yourself first and see if you like it; and then if Apollo Scooter’s (or was it maintained by Eximport) mechanic can back it up then it should be fine. That’s a beautifully made, powerful scooter that should last you years.
Scoot Happy!!_Lorenzo
Lorenzo,
Again, great site. I have checked here from time to time. I had sent you an email on listing a scooter. I have a Buddy 150 Pamplona 2008 I am trying to sell…to make room in the garage. (for some reason my wife has a problem with me owning 4 scoots and a motorcycle…geeze)
Any, I want to make sure you got my note on the buddy you do have listed in the for sale section. Those warranties aren’t transferable on a Buddy. I want to make sure your readers know that before they rely on it. It is a big source of discussion on the modern buddy discussion groups, because people buy them thinking they are transferable.
sach
It’s done, Sach, and good luck!
