SYM Scooters At Scootersmith II Now!

2008 July 15

[Update:  Folks, unfortunately for us, Mr. Elliott has decided to close down Scootersmith II for good in the spring of 2009.]

Denny visited Scootersmith II in Nederland yesterday and sent these photos of what must be one of the most exciting events in this part of Scooterdom–the arrival of SYM scooters (more on SYM here).  Thanks, Denny!  Go see Larry Elliott at Scootersmith II and check out these nice, new, quality-made scooters.  Store phone number is:  (409)729-7600.–Lorenzo

Here are some initial impressions from some club members who have tried out the SYM scooters:

From Denny:

“I rode back down to Larry’s around 5:00 this evening, and he had one of the SYM scooters ready to test. It was dark blue, about the same color as my truck. 250CC. It had a nice smooth ride, big cushy seat, and plenty of power. I rode it over to my daughter’s house about 10 blocks from Larry’s. On the way back to Larry’s, I opened it up for about three blocks. It hit 60mph and was still climbing. The windshield was a little small, and really didn’t do much to block the wind. Other than that, it seemed like a great scooter.”

From Jeff:

“OMG!  I just got back from Larry Elliott’s (Scootersmith II).  I rode the SYM HD125 and the RV250 scooters.  Those aren’t cheap knock-offs of anything.  I was thoroughly impressed with the quality, fit and finish.  I’d even go as far as to say the SYM RV250 is better  than my Honda Reflex.  You’ve got to go by and ride them.  They’re awesome!”

From Mike:

“You need to come to Nederland and check out the SYM’s. I rode a RV250 today. The ride was great, brakes worked great and performance was peppy. Would like to have taken it out on the highway.  I might go back tomorrow and ride the HD125. Nice looking scoot with them 16″ wheels.”

Here are a few more shots from my visit to Scootersmith II on Wednesday, July 16th:
